DAY 01: LEH ACCLIMATIZATION

Arrive in Leh by landing at Kushok Bakula Rinpoche Airport, Leh, one of the highest operating airports in the world at 3500 mtr. above sea level. On a clear day one can see the distant peaks of K2, Nanga Parbat, Gasherbrum, while on the other side, the peaks of Nun Kun in Zanskar valley. On arrival, you will be received by our representative who will accompany you to the hotel and assist in the check in. The day is dedicated to rest and leisure so as to ensure that the body acclimatizes. Evening will include visit to Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa & Leh Market. Overnight stay at the hotel.

DAY 02: LEH – EXCURSION TO SHAM VALLEY

After breakfast, drive towards western part of Ladakh along the Indus river on Leh – Srinagar highway. Sightseeing begins from the Hall of Fame (Museum founded by India Army) near Leh town, a worthy visit for every Indian, and proceed further to Gurudwara Patthar Sahib. Founded in 15th century, nestled deep in the Himalayas, the gurudwara was built in 1517 to commemorate the visit to the Ladakh region of Guru Nanak Dev. We then drive ahead another 5 km for Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity & further driving through a picturesque landscape we reached the Confluence Of The Indus And Zanskar River. After visiting the above places, we drive back to Leh enroute visiting Spituk Monastery. Built in 11th century during the region of Gragspa ‘Bum-lde, the monastery used to follow Kadampa school of Buddhism until 15th century where Gelukpa school of Buddhism was started and still in practice with Gelukpa order. Overnight stay at hotel in Leh.

DAY 03: LEH – EXCURSION TO PANGONG LAKE – 13,930 FT.

Full day trip. After early morning breakfast, we leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass (5,300 mtr, 17,586 ft) the third highest motorable road in the world. After 2 hrs of drive you reach to Changla pass where we stop for a short period for photography. Drive ascending towards Pangong, till we reach Tangtse where you can relax for a cup of tea/ coffee. Leaving Tangtse for Pangong, you pass through few small villages of Changthang till you reach the first view of the Pangong lake. This famous lake is situated at 13,930 feet, is 5- 8Kms wide and over 140 Kms long with 30 % in India and 70% in China. This large, serene lake forms a brilliant color variation including deep blue, dark green, turquoise, etc. After spending some time at lake drive back to Leh via same route. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 04: LEH FULL DAY EXCURSION TO MONASTERIES

Post Breakfast, we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery. Starting from Hemis Gompa, the largest monastic foundation of Drukpa Kagyu Order of Tibetan Buddhism, we will also visit the Thiksey Monastery- an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village and the Shey Palace-An ancient capital of Ladakh. The sightseeing will also include the 3 Idiots’ Rancho School as well as the Sindhu Ghat. After visiting above places, we drive back to Leh. Evening at Leisure to explore the city on your own. Dinner & Overnight at the Hotel.

DAY 05: LEH – EXCURSION TO KHARDUNGLA TOP – 18,380 FT.

Post Breakfast we drive to Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road in The World) at 5,602 Mtrs. | 18,380 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and to the north, the giants of the Karakoram range. The views from the top of the pass are extremely incredible. Return to the hotel in time for lunch. In the afternoon you can stroll around the market place for some last minute souvenir shopping. Dinner & Overnight at hotel.

DAY 06: DEPART LEH (FLY OUT).

After early morning breakfast transfer to Domestic Airport to catch the flight for your onward destination. Fly back with the sweet memories of Ladakh.
